Digging Deeper - Deep Lore v 1.1

I made a few edits to the Iconoclast! Beyond tightening a few moves / a few pieces of wording, here are the few standouts to me:

  • "Reveal a fatal flaw..." -> "Seize upon a fatal flaw". The Iconoclast is powerful - but that power is grounded in their understanding of history. This wording change I hope inspires that direct action while keeping the Iconoclast tied to the things that make them special.
  • "Say 'I have nothing more to teach you'" - in addition to being a cool mirror of the vulnerable move, this is something that I think is a moment of power for the Iconoclast - the ability to let go, and acknowledge that other people are capable of doing what needs to be done.
  • "Give in to doubt or despair in the moment" - the addition is not meant to blunt how bad this move feels, but to remind the player that the iconoclast never gives up for good (or, that if you give up for good, you're forsaking the mantle of "Iconoclast").
  • Weapons you wield/forsook: I think it's fun that the list items vary greatly in terms of their "power" - but I think it led to a little unintentional comedy, to say something like "I wield legions of pawns and mastery of the space between - but I forsook my hidden blades". It just didn't hit very hard! So the two big offenders, hidden blades and heavy blasters, get a little more oomph.
  • Ask 1 Left & Right: the fifth question I thought was cool, but ultimately it seemed more like it was diluting the relationship rather than defining it, so it's cut.
  • I also added a few new desires to the Rhymes of History!! Hah I couldn't help myself - there's just too much fun stuff to be had there. The standout desire to me: "Dramatic Irony"

Many thanks to Trevor Murray and Nathan Ricke for their thoughts!! It was really swell to hear from you guys.
